What Is the US Immigrant Visa Number

A permanent resident or green card holder is an immigrant who has been granted the privilege of living and working permanently in the United States. In order to become a permanent resident, you must first obtain an immigration visa number. U.S. law limits the number of immigrant visas available each year. This means that even if the USCIS approves an immigrant visa petition for you, an immigrant visa number may not be issued to you right away. In some cases, several years could pass between the time USCIS approves your immigrant visa petition and the State Department gives you an immigrant visa number. In addition, U.S. law also limits the number of immigrant visas available by country. This means you may have to wait longer if you come from a country with a high demand for U.S. immigrant visas. The Process of Getting Your Visa Number You must go through a multi-step process to become an immigrant: In most cases, your employer or relative (known as the petitioner) must submit an immigration petition to USCIS. (Exception: Certain applicants such as priority workers, investors, certain special immigrants, and diversity immigrants can petition on their own behalf.)USCIS will send a notice to the petitioner if the visa petition is approved.USCIS sends the approved petition to the Department of States National Visa Center where it will remain until an immigrant visa number becomes available.The beneficiary (the person seeking the immigration visa) will receive two notices from the National Visa Center: one when the visa petition is received, and again when an immigrant visa number is available.If you are already in the U.S., you may apply to adjust to permanent resident status. If you are outside the U.S., you will be notified to go to the local U.S. consulate to complete the processing for an immigrant visa. Eligibility Immigrant visa numbers are assigned based on a preference system. Immediate relatives of U.S. citizens, including parents, spouses and unmarried children under the age of 21, do not have to wait for an immigrant visa number to become available once the petition filed for them is approved by the USCIS. An immigrant visa number will be immediately available for immediate relatives of U.S. citizens. Other relatives in the remaining categories must wait for a visa to become available according to the following preferences: First Preference: Unmarried, adult sons and daughters of U.S. citizens. Adult means 21 years of age or older.Second Preference: Spouses of lawful permanent residents, and the unmarried sons and daughters (regardless of age) of lawful permanent residents and their children.Third Preference: Married sons and daughters of U.S. citizens, their spouses, and their minor children.Fourth Preference: Brothers and sisters of adult U.S. citizens, their spouses, and their minor children. If your immigration is based on employment, you must wait for an immigrant visa number to become available according to the following preferences: First Preference: Priority Workers including aliens with extraordinary abilities, outstanding professors and researchers, and certain multinational executives and managers.Second Preference: Members of Professions Holding Advanced Degrees or Persons of Exceptional Ability.Third Preference: Skilled Workers, professionals, and other qualified workers.Fourth Preference: Certain special immigrants including those in religious vocations.Fifth Preference: Employment Creation Immigrants. Tips Contacting the NVC: You do not need to contact the National Visa Center while youre waiting for an immigrant visa number to be assigned to you unless you change your address or there is a change in your personal situation that may affect your eligibility for an immigrant visa. Researching Wait Times: Approved visa petitions are placed in chronological order according to the date each visa petition was filed. The date the visa petition was filed is known as your priority date. The State Department publishes a bulletin that shows the month and year of the visa petitions they are working on, by country and preference category. If you compare your priority date with the date listed in the bulletin, you will have an idea of how long it will take to get an immigrant visa number. Different people with different beliefs, and cultural backgrounds believe in different things, have different views, and dislikes. Some people look at multiculturalism as a negative for their own selfish beliefs, but I think it’s a positive. Multiculturalism brings along different languages, foods, religions, and cultures and there here with us every day to learn from. These are also people that we work with, go to school with, and even some religions, so we have multiple opportunities to learn. The different stakeholders to be involved include; producer, artistic director, production team, company manager, stage management, technical department, stage crew, orchestra and fly men. The work of the producer is to produce financial support to the project and to the performers. They also help to monitor the financial risks affecting the company. The work of the artistic director is to present the program me to the audience since he is the creative force that runs the show David, (2005).The role of production manager is to ensure that any requirement involving the technical and staging are met in the hall. The role of the company manager is to ensure that the welfare of the employees are met, from negotiating payments with producers. The work of the stage management team is to direct the performance of the show, the technical team ensures that the show runs well without any technicalities. The orchestra helps in providing music for the show and lastly the fly men responsible for operating the scenery in the walkways and revolving platforms and bridges. There are two functions in the hall performed by the team which should rely on each other and one must know what the other is doing. The two functions involve; stage management team and the artistic director. The work of the artistic director is to present the programme to the audience through the sounds and the scenery since he is the creative mind in the organization. The stage management team will depend on the sound and scenery of the artistic director that he produces to the audience in preparation of the costumes the team will exchange in each scene, the scenes preparation and in their different orders. Also the artistic director and the stage management team will coordinate the light preparation to ensure there is no confusion. Also the sound preparations need to be coordinated among the stakeholders. All the functions need to be followed and each stakeholder also needs to know the function performed by each person for correct timing and to avoid confusion in the organization. In conclusion the hall will grow by increasing it productivity by involving the people by coordinating the different activities performed by the stakeholders. The Book Our Town Is A Play Written By Thorton Wilder In 1938. The Pla

The book Our Town is a play written by Thorton Wilder in 1938. The play uses very little props and makes the audience use their imagination. People all are very different but they all experience the same things. The daily life is mostly the same for all people across the world. In the play Ms. Gibbs wakes up the kids. She makes them breakfast and packs their lunch. The Greeks did the same for their kids. Also in the play, the letter that Jane Crowfort got was addressed to the world, the universe, and everything in gods mind. That proves that Wilder is trying to state that everyone goes through waking their kids up and fixing them breakfast. Another thing that most people go through or experience is love and marriage. In this part of the play Wilder uses flashbacks to show how this happened. George is scared of growing up and getting married to Emily. His mom, Ms. Gibbs, said that when Doc Gibbs and her were getting married they felt that they wouldn't have nothing to talk about. In the beginning of Act II the stage manager says ? Almost everybody in the world gets married-you know what I mean( Wilder 535). That is how Wilder states that everyone experiences love and marriage. People take life for granted while they live and do not appreciate life until they are gone. In this act Wilder lets Emily go back in time. Ms. Gibbs told Emily to go to the least important day of her life. Emily went to her twelve birthday. When she arrived at her house she was overwhelmed of how her mom looked at that age. Emily wanted her mom to look into her eyes for one last time. Ms. Gibbs didn't so Emily went back to the grave yard. Emily told her mom that they don't understand. Ms. Gibbs said that they don't. They were talking about living don't understand about life until they are dead. All three acts are about common experiences that everyone goes through. Wilder named the play Our Town because it could happen in any town in the world. Wilder says ?an attempt to find a value above all price for the smallest event in our daily life.?( Wilder Notes n.p.). This means that we all experience the same things in life, no matter what it is.
